Fellowshop is a shared coworking space built for the design community — a place where creative professionals come to work alongside one another in an environment that reflects their work values. This space inherited something rare: a bowtruss wood ceiling structure of genuine architectural character, exposed brick walls, and the kind of bones that signal an authentic rich history.
The challenge was to honor all of it. To design lighting that activated the space without competing with it — functional, integrative, and completely at ease with what was already there.

APPROACH & PROCESS
The Cosine worked closely with En Masse to establish a clear prime directive: the bowtruss ceiling being the star element. Every lighting decision flowed from that — how to feature it, how to reach it, how to do so within the budget and a complex existing MEP infrastructure.
Exploring multiple solutions allowed the team to land on an approach that was nimble to coordinate, straightforward to install, and beautiful in execution. Ambition and economy, held in balance.
OUTCOME & IMPACT
Fellowshop has become exactly what its founders intended: a destination for design professionals who recognize quality. The space feels special and singular. The bowtruss reads. The brick breathes. The light appreciates the environment.
This project proves that lighting can be on budget and not boring.
