NCA Studio's thoughtful approach to the architecture features soft curves and natural wood materials in order to create a welcoming environment. The lighting design emphasizes these curved elements with indirect coves and concealed toekick lighting to support a feeling of levity. The reception desk zone and waiting bench give the appearance of floating. By utilizing indirect lighting strategies, the ambience in this medical office is more resemblant of an inviting hospitality space helping to make clients feel welcome and at ease, while also achieving the brightness and pristine cleanliness expected of a high-end cosmetic office. 

This fitness studio is a serene refuge from this hustling city. To achieve this vibe, lighting is concealed from direct view and is used to paint architectural moments and materials with its warm glow. 

PROJECT CONTEXT

Spacetime Floatation is a wellness environment designed for quiet reflection, relaxation, and sensory reset. Building on the success of an existing location, the client sought to elevate the experience—creating a more immersive, design-forward space while maintaining a budget-conscious and restrained approach.

The Cosine collaborated closely with ERA from early stages to align lighting strategy with both architectural intent and budget realities. By establishing clear priorities upfront, the team focused on high-impact moments—refining details where light and material meet, rather than distributing effort across decorative elements.

Lighting was treated as an invisible layer—integrated into ceilings, walls, and millwork—ensuring that the experience felt effortless and cohesive rather than designed.

Together with The Cosine, Project Interiors recently completed a stunning renovation of a Lincoln Park residence. The challenge for this particular residence was that it, was a renovation of an existing 11,000 sqft residence. To make things more complex, ownership had a strong interest in incorporating, the most cutting edge lighting throughout the space. Our team of lighting designers, carefully crafted bold architectural lighting moments in each room to preserve the essence of the existing residence and accentuate Project Interiors concept. From every corner of the newly finished residence, the lighting perfectly compliments architectural elements and creates an inviting atmosphere for the new owners to enjoy.
