Diamond Face Institute

NCA Studio's thoughtful approach to the architecture features soft curves and natural wood materials in order to create a welcoming environment. The lighting design emphasizes these curved elements with indirect coves and concealed toekick lighting to support a feeling of levity. The reception desk zone and waiting bench give the appearance of floating. By utilizing indirect lighting strategies, the ambience in this medical office is more resemblant of an inviting hospitality space helping to make clients feel welcome and at ease, while also achieving the brightness and pristine cleanliness expected of a high-end cosmetic office.

Calumet Residence

The integration of custom millwork lighting into the existing framework of the townhouse allows for selective texture and materiality to be celebrated against a white, bright backdrop. Coves are used throughout to add layers of lighting and create focal points. The downlighting is intentionally minimal, and targeted toward vertical surfaces and major millwork pieces.

SpaceTime Floatation

Nestled amidst the bustling city, this spa project serves as a serene escape from the hectic world. Bathed in a soft, inviting energy of warm dim LED lighting, the lobby becomes a beacon for utmost comfort and tranquility. The calming atmosphere is an artful fusion of meticulous detailing and carefully curated illumination. A subtle transformation occurs as one navigates their way to their personal treatment rooms. The light levels darken, casting an even warmer and more intimate glow. This transition compliments the specialized tanks, creating an environment where both body and mind can find their perfect equilibrium.

In this project, it was very important for the client to deliver a calming experience within a specific budget. Together with the architect, we come to a simple but refined concept that could be successfully executed within these constraints. Every element played a harmonious role in the overall composition. It's a testament to the power of thoughtful lighting design to elevate a vacant mall into a sanctuary, redefining the art of relaxation in an urban landscape.
