PROJECT CONTEXT

Remedy Place is a wellness club offering a curated suite of recovery, treatment, and restoration. The SoHo location guides members out of the day to day and leads them into a full body experience.

The Cosine supplied fixtures for Remedy Place’s Flatiron location which provided a foundational understanding of the brand’s design values. This advantage allowed the team to revisit the lighting direction and adapt to its new spatial environment with confidence.

APPROACH & PROCESS

The Cosine carried forward direct knowledge of the Flatiron location to inform decisions at SoHo. The established relationship also created a smooth holistic approach in sync with buildability and budget. The client arrived with clear preferences and site specific adjustments accelerating alignment and sharpening focus on the lighting implementation.

The team seamlessly designed lighting into unique cove moments, millwork, and architectural features. Integral system lighting was mapped first in recovery zones, with additional lighting placed in complementary positions. The composition of track lights at street level were considered functional and unobtrusive making the more decorative aesthetic features the focal point of the entryway.

OUTCOME & IMPACT

Remedy Place SoHo lands exactly where it set out to: discreet at street level and extraordinary below. The descent from Canal Street into the lower level is the experience — a gradual, felt shift into stillness.

This project proves that lighting can be understated.
